Concrete Flooring Systems & Products We Use
Resinous floors—often referred to as seamless floors—are poured floors designed for both functionality and aesthetics. They are complex layered systems that are applied onsite, with each layer having a specific purpose. The different layers enable each resinous flooring system to be extremely customizable when it comes to design, as well as serve the unique demands of the exact area where they are being applied.
Resinous flooring includes epoxy, methyl methacrylate (MMA), polyaspartic, polyester, polyurethane, etc.
Grind and Seal
System
Grind and sealed concrete is exactly like its name. The process involves grinding your concrete with diamond tooling to remove dirt and grime from the surface, and then applying a topical sealer to protect the surface and give it a matte finish. This transforms dull or worn concrete to make it smooth, attractive, and long-lasting. Grind and seal concrete is a popular choice for enhancing the appearance and durability of concrete surfaces in various settings.
Flake Coatings
System
Our flake chip flooring system seamlessly blends style and functionality to your space. With its unique textured surface and multidimensional appearance, flake chip system flooring is an excellent choice for areas experiencing heavy foot traffic. Our specially formulated solution creates a long-lasting bond between the coating and your concrete floor, ensuring a worry-free experience without concerns of flaking, peeling, or chipping flaking, peeling, or chipping. It’s ideal for protecting and enhancing the aesthetics of a variety of indoor spaces while still safeguarding your floor from chemicals, abrasions, and general wear and tear.
Polished Concrete
System & Product
Polished concrete is a multi-step process where a concrete floor is mechanically ground, honed, and then polished with bonded diamond abrasives to cut into the surface of a concrete floor. The surface is then further refined in order to achieve a specified level of appearance, as well as produce a smooth finish and long-lasting shine. Because we do not place any chemicals on top, polished concrete has increased longevity since there is no wear layer.
Urethane Cement
Product
Urethane cement flooring systems offer exceptional durability and an excellent life cycle cost. These seamless flooring systems eliminate those environments where bacteria and germs tend to hide, providing an easy-to-clean surface. This flooring type is especially recommended for spaces where wet processing, chemical exposure, and high-temperature cleaning are involved—like warehouses, manufacturing facilities, commercial kitchens, high-traffic areas, and more. It’s the premier choice among resinous flooring systems. Composed of cement, water, aggregate, and various additives, it is meticulously designed for superior adhesion and wear resistance.
Epoxy Floors
Product
Epoxy is a type of thermosetting polymer that is commonly used in various industries for its adhesive, coating, and sealing properties. It is formed by the chemical reaction between epoxide resin and a curing agent (also known as hardener). Epoxy coatings are perhaps the best-known type of resinous floor coating due to their wide range of treatments where strong and durable bonds, protective coatings, and reliable sealings are required. It creates a barrier that safeguards against scratches, stains, and other threats to your floor. They have multiple advantages over concrete and metal floors when applied in industrial and commercial facilities thanks to their versatile and essential uses.
Acrylic Coatings
Product
Acrylic resin is an industrial-grade floor coating that is suitable for all types of interior and exterior surfaces. It utilizes methyl-methacrylate (MMA) to give concrete water-repellent properties, acting as a protective cover for the substrate floors underneath. Acrylic resin is tough to wear out, ensuring a long-lasting floor that is resistant to abrasions and damage. Its fast cooling time makes it the ideal option for places with only 24 hours or fewer available for installation, such as large-scale manufacturing facilities that can’t halt production for long periods of time. It’s also ideal for spaces that experience frequent disinfecting or require rapid drying due to excessive moisture.
Grind and sealed concrete is exactly like its name. The process involves grinding your concrete and then sealing it with a topical sealer. Grind and seal concrete is a popular choice for enhancing the appearance and durability of concrete surfaces in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
By grinding away surface imperfections and applying a protective sealer, grind and seal concrete can transform dull or worn concrete surfaces into smooth, attractive, and long-lasting features.
There are several benefits of our grind and seal concrete:
- Easy Maintenance
- Easy to clean
- Affordable
- Stain Resistant
- Shiny
Polished concrete is the mechanical process of honing and polishing the surface of an existing concrete slab using engineered floor grinders fitted with industrial diamond abrasives. During this process, the concrete is ground, honed, and polished using finer grits of diamond abrasives until the floor reaches the desired level of shine.
With polished concrete, there are three levels of finish/shine.
Cream Finish
Simply polished with diamond pads to enhance the floor’s natural color.
Salt and Pepper
As the name suggests, exposing the more refined grains of aggregates gives the surface a speckled or salt-and-pepper look.
Full Aggregate
The concrete surface is heavily grounded to expose the aggregates in the concrete.
When you need longevity and an easy-to-clean surface we highly recommend polished concrete since it leaves you with an absolutely gorgeous floor just by using the existing concrete itself.
The reason our polished concrete system has such longevity is that we do not place a chemical on top of the concrete that creates a wear layer. We are refining the concrete itself to produce a long-lasting shine.
Our flake chip flooring system brings style and function to the high-traffic areas of your residential, commercial, and garage space. With its textured surface and multidimensional appearance, flake chip system flooring is an excellent choice for areas with heavy foot traffic. Our formula creates a long-lasting bond between the coating and your concrete floor; you won’t have to worry about flaking, peeling, or chipping.

The Best Coating or System for You
At Twisted Floors, we select the proper coating type for your floor by testing the moisture and porosity of all concrete before coating to ensure that the right coating system is installed. At Twisted Floors, we test the moisture content in your concrete on the day of the estimate and we also check it BEFORE we install the coating itself. We also perform a MOHS Hardness test to see the hardness of the underlying concrete.
Not all concrete will work with a polyurea coating. Always make sure the company that you choose to install your concrete coating does the appropriate tests on your concrete and has knowledge of all types of coatings and why one system doesn’t work for all floors.
